Prehandle parameters

To configure XPS to use prehandle planning, the XPS administrator must set the Prehandle subset of EC parameters.

At times, ECN4 might generate extraneous split moves. This is expected behavior. Depending on timing circumstances, CHE processing can result in multiple split moves that gradually migrate a container toward the target move-to position. You can mitigate this behavior somewhat by using the PHTLIT parameter.

Parameter

Description

PHMLOD

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The amount of time in seconds before vessel load moves for which XPS considers a container for imminent pre-handling. This parameter determines the vessel load time margin.

Default: 1800

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTIPI

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The imminent prehandle run time interval in seconds.

Default: 20

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTLIT

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The number of rows from current to improve position before considering a move for pre-handing. A container may be considered for pre-handling if the location can be improved by more than this number of rows. This parameter determines the location improvement threshold.

This parameter is not considered for housekeeping moves.

Default: 0

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTMHT

Type: EC Parameter

Description: This parameter determines the time horizon threshold, in seconds, for prehandle moves (housekeeping moves) in ASC blocks. When you set PHTMHT to xx seconds, XPS evaluates prehandle moves (housekeeping moves) for other prehandles only after xx seconds.

If you have a large number of housekeeping moves, it is possible that the default value could lead to different containers being planned to the same position. Changing to a lower value, such as between 600 and 1200, should help ensure that housekeeping container moves are replanned to unoccupied positions.

To see how PHTMHT works with other housekeeping parameters, see Set housekeeping EC Parameters.

Default: 3600 (seconds)

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager

PHTSIT

Type: EC Parameter

Description: This parameter determines how much better a potential Expert Decking score must be for it to be considered for housekeeping. Navis recommends that you do not modify the default value to a lower value. See Set housekeeping EC Parameters to see how this parameter works with other EC parameters that control housekeeping.

This does not apply to prepositioning moves.

Default: 200

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTTAC

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The maximum total time in sixtieths of a second per idle cycle for prehandler runs.. To see how PHTTAC works with other housekeeping parameters, see Set housekeeping EC Parameters.

Default: 120

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTTER

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The amount of time in sixtieths of a second allowed before the prehandler displays and logs an error message about the time used.

Default: 120

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTTPA

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The maximum time in sixtieths of a second per cycle for prehandle search per one block.

Default: 6

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option

PHTTTO

Type: EC Parameter

Description: The minimum time interval in sixtieths of a second between prehandle cycles. To see how PHTTTO works with other housekeeping parameters, see Set housekeeping EC Parameters.

Default: 120

Module: Equipment Control with ECN4

Area/Option: AYC Manager Option
